Salvage/Loss Mitigation
When a vessel owner has a significant loss as a result of sinking or partial sinking it is beneficial for the owner and the underwriter to have an experienced independent surveyor to assist and conduct the following:
- Assist owner(s) on their or the underwriters behalf to mitigate losses to cargo and/or vessel
- Assist owners in coordinating and obtaining the necessary marine service companies to salvage, make repairs, and transport their cargo or vessel involved in the casualty
- Obtaining estimates for repairs
- Overseeing repairs and vessel being put back into service
- In the unfortunate event that the vessel is sunk or beyond repair, AB-Marine can assist in the wreck removal, transport and disposal of cargo or vessel
